The photos at the links below are what a typical text book case of
herpes looks like. The problem with most infection, is that they don't look as
obvious. Sometimes genital herpes simply looks like a small area of
irritated skin. Other times herpes can look like small little tiny
blisters. After a HSV blister pops, a secondary infection results in
the large herpes ulcers seen in one of the pictures. Additionally, first
time outbreaks are worse, usually resulting in ulcerated sores. Repeat
genital herpes outbreaks don't always get as severe.
